At Southalls of Norchard we have now sold the last of our Mixed Squash which, if you don’t eat them, will also make beautiful decorations when sprayed. Thank you to friend Di for the sumptuous pic. The one crop we are picking now is Purple Sprouting Broccoli and it is harvesting well and tasting very good. Wood pigeons are normally a problem at this time of year because they also love to eat Purple but at the moment they are distracted by local crops of Oil Seed Rape. The farm team are now focusing on plans for 2018 – 12 crops to be fitted onto around 1200 acres, 90 fields and using over 60 different varieties. It will keep us out of mischief!
